Pam Verrender

Pam is a registered psychologist with degrees in psychology and social work, along with postgraduate qualifications in family therapy, couples therapy and genetic counselling.

After graduating in 1988, Pam spent 15 years working as a social worker for the NSW Health Dept in psychiatry, intensive care, and sexual assault. She then applied her skills in specialised roles for the Legal Aid Commission, Juvenile Justice NSW, and private IVF clinics.

 Pam trained as a family and couples’ therapist in 1990, specialising in Milan Systemic Therapy and more recently in the Gottman Method Couples Therapy.  

Pam has extensive experience in a broad range of mental health problems including depression, anxiety, stress, post-traumatic stress disorder, adjustment difficulties, autism spectrum disorder, ADHD, grief and loss, domestic and sexual violence, relationship issues, perinatal mental health, and perinatal non-directive counselling.  She also has a keen interest in fertility issues and is a Senior Fertility Counsellor.

Pam is committed to assisting people with treatment strategies that are evidence-based, including CBT, ACT, IPT, DBT, Milan Systemic Therapy and Gottman Couples Therapy.  She has a respectful, non-judgemental, warm, interpersonal style and tailors her work to fit the needs of individuals, couples and families requiring psychological care and dealing with challenging life experiences.
