Belinda is a Clinical Psychologist and she has been working in the field of Psychology since 1997. She is a full member of the Australian Psychological Society and a fellow of the College of Clinical Psychologists. She holds general registration with the Psychology Board of Australia with endorsement in the area of Clinical Psychology. She is eligible to provide Medicare Rebates.
Belinda has been working in private practice for many years. Her work history also includes experience in clinical treatment outcome research, the provision of vocational rehabilitation within the disability sector, and significant experience working within a university counselling service.
Belinda brings a broad range of therapeutic skills and approaches to her clinical practice. She has significant experience providing individual counselling and therapy and dealing with the complexity of human experience across the life span. She believes a respectful, collaborative, and warm relationship with her clients is an essential component of therapy. She aims to work with each client to develop an approach to treatment that fits with each person’s unique needs.
She values creativity and new experiences in the process of transformation. She has found approaches such as expressive writing, art therapy, and mindfulness can be useful additions to overall clinical treatment. She has a budding interest in the use of nature-based interventions.
Belinda finds it fulfilling to accompany clients as they take the steps to experience a growing sense of self-awareness, and make relevant and meaningful changes in their lives. Her clinical experience has given her a deep appreciation for the resilience, resources, and wisdom that each person has within them.
