Alison Grundy

Alison is a clinical psychologist who provides psychological therapy to adults. She completed her Master of Clinical Psychology degree at Macquarie University and has worked for over 35 years in a variety of roles in public health and private practice. Alison has worked extensively in the fields of sexual assault and domestic violence, as a clinician and manager, and more recently in public hospital settings.

Alison has experience working with a wide range of psychological problems including anxiety, depression, adjustment disorders, grief, and post traumatic reactions including child and adult abuse and sexual assault trauma. She has specialised skills in working with adults who have had difficult childhood experiences. She works from an empowerment model using a range of techniques to help facilitate growth, connection and personal autonomy. Alison is able to provide medium term therapies as well as long term psychotherapy.

Alison has provided supervision and consultation to a wide variety of government and non-government agencies and individuals. She is registered with the Australian Health Practitioners Agency (AHPRA) and the Australian Psychological Society (APS) and is registered to provide psychological services through Medicare.

Consultation Fee:

Initial and subsequent consultation fees are $220-250 per 50 minute session.

Medicare Rebate:

Alison is registered to provide services under Medicare via the Better Access to Mental Health Scheme. To claim this rebate clients will need a Mental Health Care Plan (MHCP)  from their GP or Psychiatrist. The current rebate from Medicare under this program for sessions with a Clinical Psychologist is $129.50.

Private Health Insurance:

Many private health funds provide a rebate for psychological services. Please contact your private health insurer for more information.
